Welcome to Loquitur — a brand-new Internet podcast dedicated to interviewing academic and professional experts on current National Forensic League debate topics for the free educational benefit of high school students competing in Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum Debate.

Your Hosts
The Loquitur Podcast is co-hosted by Mahesha Subbaraman and Brandon Sheats.
Mahesha Subbaraman is a high school Lincoln-Douglas debate coach in Minnesota, an Amherst College graduate, the founder/owner of Trinity Briefs, and the creator of Colloquy.
Brandon Sheats is an assistant debate coach at Henry W. Grady High School in Atlanta, GA, where he has coached twelve competitors to the NFL National Tournament (a district record) and twenty competitors to the CFL Grand Nationals. Brandon’s students have also cleared many national circuit tournaments, including the Florida Blue Key, Wake National Earlybird, and the Carrollton Peach State Classic. He is also the director/editor of Georgia Forensics Daily.
Our Mission
To help high school students participating in Lincoln-Douglas Debate (LD) and/or Public Forum Debate (PF) better understand the topics they are arguing by listening to what real experts on these topics actually have to say about them.
Professors, researchers, lawyers, doctors, legislators, scientists, journalists, and more — these are the kinds of voices we plan on bringing to you, our listening audience, week after week as we delve into the depths of current NFL debate topics. To this end, here are the topics our experts will be covering in the weeks to come:
NFL March/April 2008 Lincoln-Douglas (LD) Debate Topic
Resolved: Hate crime enhancements are unjust in the United States.
NFL April 2008 Public Forum (PF) Debate Topic
Resolved: That the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 will successfully mitigate economic slowdowns over the next year.
